This PhD project is a qualitative study of how formerly homeless individuals make the transition into permanent housing.

  • Project dates: 2018

The transition out of homelessness is a complicated and challenging process and anxiety, isolation and further episodes of homelessness are common outcomes. The study seeks to understand the challenges they face settling into permanent housing, the strategies they use to address them, as well as the social practices involved in turning a place into a home.
