Associate Professor Val Colic-Peisker

Before joining RMIT University in 2007, Val worked at Monash and Murdoch Universities and University of Western Australia. Val is a full-time teacher in the School of GUSS and an active researcher. Val’s research is interdisciplinary and theoretically as well as policy-oriented; she is a proficient user of  qualitative and quantitative research methods. Val’s central research interests are migration, mobility, globalisation, cosmopolitanism and Australian immigration and settlement policies. Her research has focused on notions of ethnicity/race, identity, community and class. Val ‘s recent publications cover topics such as labour and residential integration of immigrants in Australia, especially those from non-Anglophone backgrounds; development of Australian multiculturalism; and urban diversity and homeownership in Australia.
